I. Clinical Pathology Section

  1. Haematology Section

    • International External Quality Assessment Schemes (IEQAS) for Coagulation testing by World Federation of Haemophilia (WFH) and World Health Organization (WHO)

      • act as a participant laboratory

      • start from 12th February, 2016

      • Plan to act as an organizing laboratory for National External Quality Assessment Schemes (NEQAS) for coagulation studies especially Prothrombin Time (PT) and Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (APTT) to other State and Division hospitals in collaboration with WFH and WHO.

    • IEQAS for Automated Haematology Analyzer by SYSMEX

      • Act as participant as well as organizing laboratory for 10 participants in other State and Division hospitals.

      • Plan to act as a NEQAS provider for the participants in Myanmar.

    • National External Quality Assessment Schemes (NEQAS) for Haemoglobinestimation

      • Act as a provider since 1993 for 15 participating laboratories.

      • Nowadays, total 47 participating laboratories.

      • Plan to extend another 10 laboratories.

  2. Biochemistry Section

    • United Kingdom National External Quality Assessment Scheme (UKNEQAS) by WHO collaborating center, Birmingham

      • Act as a participant since 1981 for 11 biochemical analytes

      • Nowadays, up to 16 biochemical analytes

    • HIV Ab, HBs Ag and HCV Ab with National Serology Reference Laboratory Melbourne, Australia (since 2000)
    • Intratypic differentiation (IDD) and Vaccine derived Polio Virus (VDPV)
    • Proficiency Testing for Isolation of Polio Viruses with Center for Infectious Disease Research, Diagnostics and Screening RIVM/IDS, Netherlands (since 2000)
    • Measles/Rubella Virus Serology with WHO/regional Measles Reference Lab, Victoria, Australia (since 2002)
    • Japanese Encephalitis Serology with WHO/NIMHANS Bangalore, India (since 2008)
    • Dried Blood Sport (HIV DNA PCR) with Center for Disease Control, USA (since 2013)
    • Influenza – proficiency panel testing yearly for detection of Influenza virus type A by PCR with WHO CC, Hong Kong
    • HIV viral load with Center for Disease Control, USA (since 2013)Dengue and Chikungunya serology with Environmental Health Institute of National Environment Agency, Singapore (WPRO, WHO) (since 2014)
